Four-Week Wheel Throwing Pottery Course

Discover the simple joy of creating with your hands.

This course is designed especially for beginners and gives you the chance to slow down, explore something new, and enjoy the process of learning. Held at Beldari Pottery Studio in the heart of Echuca’s historic port area. You’ll be supported every step of the way by Chris, our patient and friendly instructor, who will be there to guide you as you build your skills and confidence at the wheel.

What You’ll Learn

Week 1 – Getting Started: Get to know the wheel, the feel of the clay, and make your very first cylinder.

Week 2 – Building Confidence: Explore shaping techniques and create your first bowl as your skills start to take shape.

Week 3 – Expanding Your Skills: Try your hand at making a plate and see how far you’ve come.

Week 4 – Bringing It Together: Recap what you’ve learned, troubleshoot any challenges, and create a piece that’s completely your own.

After your pieces are fired, you’ll return for a bonus glazing session to add colour and personality—bringing your work to life and finishing your collection.

Why You’ll Love Pottery

Time to Slow Down: Working with clay helps quiet busy thoughts and lets you be fully in the moment.

Space to Explore: You’ll get to play, experiment, and discover your own creative style.

Steady Skill-Building: Each week you’ll pick up new techniques and see your confidence grow at the wheel.

Meaningful Results: There’s something special about using pieces you’ve made with your own hands.

Shared Experience: Creating alongside others brings connection, support, and plenty of laughs.
